Major difference
Laritor organizes monitoring around Laravel resources and their recorded executions. Your team gets detailed application views, clear recording modes, and customizable performance reporting from one managed service.
Laritor adds dedicated queue wait, command output, backend session, Pennant, and custom event views. GlitchTip supports errors and performance, but the same Laravel resource workspace is not listed.
Laritor’s exception and issue modes keep related recorded activity for qualifying executions. GlitchTip’s Sentry-compatible transaction setup uses SDK sampling and supported telemetry rather than the same named Laravel presets.
Laritor manages ingestion, storage, retention, and capacity. A self-hosted GlitchTip deployment makes those services your responsibility; hosted GlitchTip also manages its backend, without the same dedicated Laravel workflows.
Why choose Laritor over GlitchTip?
Track exceptions and investigate the slow or failing work around them. Follow requests, queues, queries, API calls, user sessions, and feature flags through Laravel views your team can use every day.
20M billable events, unlimited apps and users, and 30-day retention. Choose exceptions, detected issues, or all activity without a separate error or log quota.
GlitchTip hosted Small starts at $15/month for 100K quota events with 90-day event history. Laritor starts at $20/month for 20M related billable events and 30-day history. A GlitchTip error or transaction is one quota event; Laritor also counts the related activity it records. These allowances and history periods differ. Compare your workload below; neither product is always the cheaper choice.
Cost calculator
Use one workload for both tools. GlitchTip counts each retained error or performance transaction once in its quota. Laritor counts the related events it records. Choose the workload, then estimate its related activity.
20,000,000 billable events · 30-day history
1,000,000 transaction reports · 3,000,000 included quota events
90-day hosted event retention
Monthly USD before tax. This scenario excludes extra signals, logs, uptime checks, release-file storage, and other projects. The products count events differently and include different history periods.
Hosted monthly paid rates checked October 10, 2026: Small $15 for 100K quota events, Medium $50 for 500K, Large $250 for 3M. The calculator chooses the smallest sufficient published paid tier, without a free-plan baseline. Above 3M modeled quota events, ask GlitchTip for confirmed pricing. Its published quota policy throttles after the allowance is reached; no automatic per-event overage rate is modeled. Uptime checks and release-file megabytes also consume quota; current log metering requires confirmation. Annual discounts, self-hosted infrastructure/support, custom terms, other signals, and taxes are excluded. Laritor includes 20M events for $20 plus $0.20 per started 100K; strictly above $500 it shows “Ask for a quote.” Exactly $500 stays numeric. Measure actual related events and avoid counting shared execution context twice when multiple exceptions occur.
Open the Laravel resource you need, then inspect the events behind slow or failing work.
Request performance
Compare request volume, status codes, duration percentiles, and lifecycle timing. Open a retained request to inspect its recorded queries, logs, and API calls.

Laritor suits teams that want exceptions, issue detection, and performance monitoring built around Laravel. It adds dedicated request/job investigations, payload and command-output views, session journeys, Pennant insights, server resources, customizable dashboards, and scheduled performance PDFs. GlitchTip suits teams looking for a simpler multi-platform monitoring backend, lower paid starting price, or open-source self-hosting.
Yes. Its official setup uses sentry/sentry-laravel with a GlitchTip DSN and configurable transaction sampling. Laravel native here means primarily built for Laravel, rather than the ability to monitor it. Laritor has that primary focus; GlitchTip supports multiple frameworks and platforms. Neither documented Composer setup requires a mandatory tracing extension.
Yes. Current GlitchTip groups transactions by operation and shows average duration, p50, p95, request counts, error counts, and child-span breakdowns. Span storage and advanced analysis depend on DuckDB. Laritor adds dedicated Laravel lifecycle, queue, bot-traffic, and configured content views alongside retained execution events.
Both tools group errors and show recorded stack traces and execution context. GlitchTip receives exception details, SDK breadcrumbs, and custom data. Laritor also presents retained related requests, queries, API calls, logs, jobs, and other events through dedicated Laravel resource views. What either tool can show depends on collection, filtering, and retained history.
Laritor offers exceptions-only, issues-only, and full observability presets. A retained request or job includes its configured related events. GlitchTip supports independent error and transaction sampling and filtering. Sampling selected transactions is a different workflow from keeping a Laravel execution because an exception or slow/failed issue was detected.
Yes. Its compatible Laravel SDK can record queue-job transactions and spans for database queries, HTTP clients, cache, and notifications. Coverage depends on SDK version, framework version, configuration, and the GlitchTip server. Laritor adds dedicated queue wait-time, throughput, job payload, query, and command-output investigations.
One retained workload count drives both estimates. Select error occurrences or performance transactions; each uses one GlitchTip quota event per counted occurrence or transaction. The average related-event input estimates Laritor billable events, including 2 KB increments. Child spans and error breadcrumbs are not multiplied into GlitchTip quota usage. The calculator selects the smallest published paid plan that covers the modeled count.
The reviewed monthly paid plans are Small at $15 for 100K quota events, Medium at $50 for 500K, and Large at $250 for 3M. Laritor starts at $20 for 20M related billable events. These units differ, so headline allowances are not directly interchangeable. This estimate excludes free/trial plans; annual or larger-volume terms require confirmed pricing.
The reviewed pricing page describes throttling after the plan quota is reached, increasing until ingestion is fully blocked at twice the quota. It does not publish an automatic per-event overage price. This calculator upgrades to a sufficient published paid tier and asks for a GlitchTip quote above 3M modeled quota events, rather than treating throttled excess usage as included capacity.
It estimates one selected workload: retained errors or retained performance transactions. A run can produce both a transaction and an error, which consume separate quota events. Uptime checks and release-file megabytes also consume the published allowance. Additional errors during the performance scenario, logs, uptime, release storage, other projects, self-hosting, support subscriptions, and taxes are excluded. Confirm current log metering with GlitchTip; the public pricing FAQ does not specify it.
Laritor shows Ask for a quote strictly above $500 per month; exactly $500 remains numeric. GlitchTip shows Ask GlitchTip for a quote above 3M modeled monthly quota events because the reviewed public paid tiers stop there. This is a pricing verification boundary, not a claimed platform ingestion limit. Custom terms and self-hosted capacity require separate estimates.
Yes. The backend is MIT-licensed and its deployment guide supports PostgreSQL with a combined or split web/worker service and optional Valkey. Storage, upgrades, backups, scaling, and operations remain your responsibility. GlitchTip encourages for-profit self-hosters to buy support. Laritor is hosted, and the calculator compares hosted subscriptions rather than inventing a self-hosted infrastructure budget.
Laritor includes 30-day recorded-event history. GlitchTip’s hosted architecture documents 90-day event retention, and self-hosted retention is configurable. Hot-storage periods are not the same as total retained history: optional DuckDB archives older data into Parquet. The hosted price comparison includes different history periods and should be read with that difference in mind.
Yes. Laritor offers in-app exception recommendations and read-only exception MCP with retained Laravel execution context. GlitchTip has a native hosted or self-hosted MCP server for errors, performance, logs, monitors, and alert configuration; it can also change issue status. Some performance tools require DuckDB. GlitchTip uses your external assistant rather than selling its own in-app AI debugging service.
Yes. GlitchTip 6.2 adds direct OpenTelemetry log ingestion at /v1/logs alongside Sentry SDK envelopes. Its older logs guide still says a raw OTLP receiver is unavailable, so this comparison follows the newer release. The release describes general native OTLP spans/traces as upcoming; that does not remove existing Sentry-compatible transaction and span support. Laravel SDK structured-log compatibility depends on version and configuration.
Laritor has dedicated backend session journeys, retained user requests, configured session state, automatic Laravel Pennant insights, and business-event resources. It also has unlimited dashboards with 85+ widgets and customizable daily/weekly PDF reports. Equivalent built-in resources are not listed in the reviewed GlitchTip guides, although custom SDK data and its Grafana integration can extend an investigation.
Laritor supports redaction, exclusions, and optional content capture before data leaves your app. The Sentry Laravel SDK used with GlitchTip has before-send hooks and collection controls that can remove or discard sensitive data locally. Review SQL bindings, stack variables, request content, custom metadata, and AI access. SDK capabilities do not automatically imply that GlitchTip provides every Sentry server-side feature.
Yes. Evaluate both in a representative app or environment. Compare known errors and slow jobs, recorded context, alert delivery, actual billed usage, and combined client overhead. Keep SDK sampling and redaction consistent with your requirements. Retain access to your existing GlitchTip history while Laritor builds new history; no automatic history import is documented.
About this comparison
Published by Laritor, independently of GlitchTip. Official product, hosted pricing, Laravel setup, SDK configuration, performance, logs, uptime, MCP, integrations, installation, hosted architecture, MIT license, and 6.1/6.2 release documents were reviewed on . Capabilities depend on collection, compatible versions, permissions, and storage configuration.
“Laravel native” means primarily built for Laravel. GlitchTip genuinely supports Laravel through sentry/sentry-laravel, and both documented setups use Composer. SDK instrumentation can collect jobs, queries, cache, HTTP clients, notifications, and custom data. Those capabilities do not automatically include every Sentry server-side product or equivalent dedicated Laravel resource view.
The calculator uses one retained workload count for both tools. Select errors or performance transactions, then enter the average related Laritor billable events. Each GlitchTip error occurrence or transaction report counts once in its published quota definition; its child spans and error metadata are not multiplied into that count. For mixed workloads, errors and transactions are separate quota events, even if they describe the same execution. The estimate models one selected workload and the smallest sufficient public paid tier. It excludes additional error events in the performance scenario, logs, uptime checks, release storage, other projects, taxes, annual discounts, and custom terms. The pricing FAQ does not specify log metering, so log costs require confirmation.
GlitchTip also counts uptime checks and release-file megabytes. Its quota policy describes increasing throttling after the quota is reached, with full blocking at twice the quota; that is not extra included capacity. Above the largest verified public paid tier of 3M events, confirm a GlitchTip quote. Laritor strictly above $500 requires a quote; exactly $500 stays numeric. The estimate includes different hosted history periods: 30 days for Laritor and 90-day event retention documented by GlitchTip.
GlitchTip has native MCP and Copy for AI, rather than its own in-app AI debugging service. Its MCP includes issue-status changes and is not entirely read-only; certain performance tools require DuckDB. Version 6.2 adds a span breakdown UI and direct /v1/logs ingestion. The older logs guide still says no raw OTLP endpoint, so this comparison follows the newer release. Native general OTLP trace/span ingestion was announced as future work, separate from existing Sentry-compatible transactions and spans.
GlitchTip self-hosting transfers infrastructure, scaling, backups, upgrades, and operating work to your team; it also encourages for-profit users to purchase support. It is excluded from the hosted calculator. Optional DuckDB cold storage moves older records to Parquet; the hot-storage window is not total retention. Public-source links appear beside the relevant detailed comparisons; table columns remain focused on capabilities.
